How to take screenshots on laptops and PCs with Windows operating system?
There are several methods you can follow to save the display/screenshot on your device screen. Follow any of the given ways to take screenshots on your laptop and PC screens:
- Use the Print Screen (PrtScn) Button
Pressing the Print Screen (PrtScn) button can be used to capture the entire screen. The screenshot taken will be copied to the clipboard. It won’t be saved as a file on your gadget. So, you have to open an image editing application for example Microsoft Word or Paint, and then copy the screenshot to the application. Finally, the screenshot appears on the screen. Just save the screenshot.
- Using Alt + Prtscn Keys
You can use the keyboard shortcut Alt + PrtScn for capturing a screenshot of active Windows. With this method you will be able to capture your active Windows, then you have to copy the screenshot to the clipboard. Finally, open the image editor to save it on your device.
- Using Windows Key + Prtscn
To capture the entire screen and automatically save the screenshot, press the Windows key + Prtscn key. Your screen will dim briefly to indicate that you just took a screenshot, and the screenshot will be saved to the images folder ==> screenshot.
- Using Windows Key + Shift + S
As soon as you use Windows Key + Shift + S, the screen will get shadowy and the laptop mouse pointer will change. All you have to do is drag the cursor to select the part of the screen to take a screenshot. The screenshot will automatically get copied to the clipboard. You just have to paste the screenshot to another program or application.
NOTE: This shortcut method is applicable only for the latest version of the Windows 10 operating system.
- Use Windows Logo Key + Volume Down
Users of the Microsoft Surface device can use physical buttons for capturing a screenshot of the complete screen. This method is similar to taking screenshots on android phones or tablets.
For using this method, hold down the Windows logo touch button located at the bottom of the Surface screen. Next press the physical volume-down button located on the side of the tablet. The screen will get shadowed and the screenshot will be automatically get saved to the images folder.
- Using the Game Bar
The game bar can be used to take screenshots even if you aren’t playing the game.
Just click on Windows key + G to for bringing up the game bar. You just have to press the screenshot button in the game bar. You can also use the shortcut to take a full-screen shot by clicking the default Windows key + Alt + PrtScn key.
